MANAGEMENT
This is the beginning of the National Eightpoint Tournament.
The concept of a National Videotaped Tournament, where anyone anywhere in the country can compete without setting foot- outside of their town, has been a long time in the planning. Now it is time to take the idea and make it work. To begin we are conducting a nation wide mailing to ask billiard clubs, taverns and related organizations to please post up the N.E.T. information which will invite as many players as possible to participate in the National Eightpoint Tournament. Our goal is to conduct a tournament of one hundred entries per day. This will take time and the involvement of many as all new ideas do.
Any involvement on your part in the promotion and success of this tournament will be greatly appreciated. To show our appreciation we will send $5- to your business for each complete entry we receive which bears the name and address of your billiard club, tavern or organization on the entry form.
The National Eightpoint Tournament encourages billiard players everywhere to perform their pool shooting skills on film. It offers a format to display those skills and a service whereby the videotapes will be reviewed and the six best performances of each one hundred entries will be awarded prizes.
This tournament does not compete with or replace the 8-Ball, 9-Ball and other tournaments that are being enjoyed each week in your clubs. It was inspired by a desire to be a part of the skilled sport of pocket billiards which is growing in popularity by leaps and bounds each year. We believe the National Eightpoint Tournament will assist in the games expansion and we thank you for your help in it's introduction.
Sincerely Yours
The N.E.T. Staff
P.S. Club owners: Please consider video camera rental time. Soon we hoQe to be able to offer video equipment at discount prices.
